When you sow, you do not plant the body…1 Corinthians 15:37,38

Another obstacle to sharing with others is fear. Fear is a natural reaction when we have been taught to approach evangelism as an unnatural intrusion into the life of another person. This is not meant to denigrate the gift of evangelism. There are gifted people who can and do share their faith with total strangers and they often have positive results. But the reality is, most of us are not gifted this way.

In 2 Corinthians 2:14 disciples of Jesus are called the fragrance of Christ.

"...through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place."

Sometimes a smile, or a word of encouragement, or just listening to someone who is suffering, or perhaps offering to pray for a need can be used by Jesus to help a person on the path of becoming a disciple.

We sometimes forget that we are a team. I like  the way this is stated in 1 Corinthians 3:7 of The Message bible.

"It’s not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the center of this process but God, who makes things grow."

Let's all seek to be the fragrance of Christ in the lives of people we know. Smelling like him and reflecting his glory from within will more likely open opportunities to say something about him. As a relationship develops a good option is to extend an invitation to join a discipleship journey to get to know Jesus.
